There’s saucy and there’s SAAUUCY! Skinny Latina Guava-Fig BBQ chicken wings. ⚠️ Messy & highly addictive. These chicken wings are baked, which in my opinion, it’s the best way to make wings!
By baking these, you get all the flavor and no added calories from all the oil you use while frying 👊 The guava and fig flavor from the Skinny Latina BBQ sauce gives these wings a tangy note and adding honey adds a nice sweetness to it, ’cause balance!

Now let’s get down to the recipe!
INGREDIENTS:
10-16 chicken wings
1 cup Skinny Latina BBQ Guava-Fig sauce
¼ cup honey
1-2 cloves garlic, minced
Olive oil
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper or cayenne pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 375 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a bowl, toss chicken wings with salt, black or cayenne pepper (depending on desired heat level), garlic and olive oil. Line up the chicken wings on the baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 40 minutes, flipping them over halfway.
2️⃣ In the meantime, prepare your BBQ sauce. In a small pot, mix bbq sauce and honey and bring to a slow simmer over low-medium heat. My little secret: when flipping over the chicken wings (halfway through the cooking step) pour all of that chicken juice in the sauce. Mix in well and reduce for 8-10 mins or until you reach desired thickness.
3️⃣ In a bowl, toss the chicken wings with most of the sauce but leave about a ¼ cup of sauce on the side – this is what will make the chicken wings extra saucy. Put wings back on the baking sheet, I like to spoon more sauce on each chicken wing – here’s where that TLC comes in, show some love to your food 😜 – put back in the oven for another 5 minutes, flip over and spoon more sauce on your babies and put back in the oven for another 5-8 minutes. At this point, your wings are ready. Sauce lovers, see next step.
4️⃣ This extra step is for those savages, like me, who love SAUCY wings 🔥 Thicken leftover sauce over low heat for a few more minutes, you want to see the bottom of the pot when passing the spoon. In a bowl, toss wings with extra sauce and serve with your fave dipping sauce. ENJOY!
